Morgan Insurance helps with business insurance for Bathurst’s Incy Interiors who found one of their gorgeous brass beds at the centre of a national media controversy during The Block 2017.
What happened…
Sparks flew as controversy and scandal broke out on television’s popular renovation show ‘The Block’ when two contestants were accused of cheating. Outspoken WA couple, Ronnie and Georgia, were forced to defend themselves when a fellow contestant, Jason, from VIC, claimed the couple had stolen the design look for their winning children’s bedroom from the Melbourne professional design business, Norsu Interiors.
Jason was sent a picture that appeared on Norsu Interior’s Instagram account. The photo showed a children’s bedroom Norsu had recently styled. Although not identical, Norsu’s design is very similar to the one presented by Ronnie and Georgia on the show. The rules of the reality show state teams are not allowed help from professional designers or stylists. But where do you draw the line? Many teams gather ideas from stylist pictures. The question is when is similar too similar?

Ronnie and Georgia used the same kind of wall prints, toys, and blush canopy as in the Norsu picture as well as the same rose gold bed. The rose gold bed used by both ‘The Block’ couple and Norsu Interiors actually comes from Incy Interiors. Morgan Insurance is proud to have flourishing Incy Interiors as a client. With their head office in Bathurst, Incy has a flagship store in Chatswood and are proud to have their fabulous products stocked in hundreds of prestigious stores around the world including USA, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

Owner of Incy Interiors, Kristy Withers, had this to say about one of her products being featured on ‘The Block’. “It was great to see our ‘Eden’ rose gold children’s bed featured on ‘The Block’. Norsu Interiors stock our ‘Eden’ bed so hopefully the TV coverage will result in a boost in sales. You could say we received a bit of free advertising so we’re happy Norsu’s Instagram picture was shown on ‘The Block’.”

Some ‘three degrees of separation’…
As it turns out Kristy’s husband, Simon Withers, is also a long time client of Jim Morgan. His thriving Bathurst based construction business, Central West Civil Pty Ltd, is insured through Morgan Insurance, as is Kristy and Simon’s central west farm. As owners of such prominent and highly successful businesses, Kristy and Simon’s continuation as clients is a testament to Morgan Insurance’s skilled advice and professional expertise.
